Uninstall program


hi here.

how can i uninstall program like GAIM which is install by default when i install FC1 in my system?This is because the installed version is 0.71 and now i would like to install the latest GAIM v0.82.

So,what should i do?

well, i don't know fc2 , but, as most distro's come with much documentation,
maybe try reading some stuff related to your prob ?

Well, I haven't touched FC2 but it should run redhat commands anyways (I don't see why not). If you get the newest package of GAIM, you can update it like so: rpm -Uvh <whatever.rpm>. However, this is what I would do:

1. remove the old GAIM you have. rpm -e <package>
2. Then install the new one. rpm -i <package>

you don't need to remove it. You just have to do rpm -Uvh <newpackage> and it should update the old one.
