Question Uninstall Postgresql


Hi All,

I want to uninstall Postgresql on LINUX redhat. I have installed it from source. how do i do it?

Any advice is welcome. Thanks a lot!

Firstly: Please don't hi-jack others threads, and don't dig
up 7 year old carcasses of threads. I split your post out
and made it into a thread of yours.

And to answer your question: if you still have the source
directory, just go there and do "make uninstall".

Out of curiosity: why are you uninstalling Postgres? :}

Uninstall Postgres

HI,

I tried make uninstall but its not working.It is saying 'No rule to make target'. can u pls suggest something else?

You will have to run configure script before doing the uninstallation.

Uninstalling_postgresql

Hi,

I tried to manually delete files related to postgresql. I just have 1 doubt . Can i remove the below files too???

/usr/share/selinux/targeted/postgresql.pp.bz2
/usr/share/selinux/devel/include/services/postgresql.if
/etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/modules/postgresql.pp

These are part of the OSes SELinux policy, and not of postgres.
