Uninstall or remove obsolete kernels

My Grub menu has generations of kernel updates. I see the point of keeping a 'stable' version but I would like to remove some of the older versions. I let Ubuntu *Update Manager* do the installation and I do the occasional edit of /boot/grub/menu.lst OK. Now I would like to keep *'Gutsy'* but remove older kernels and leave one *Feisty * in reserve. Can I use Synaptic to 'removing completely' the older kernel versions or are there other redundant dependencies to remove or clean-up? Ant help would be appreciated.

I don't see any problems. If you're not going to use any of the older kernels, just uninstall them ("remove completely" should also be safe). The entries should be automatically removed from grub at the same time. If not, just edit menu.1st and remove the entries manually.

Many thanks, David the H., just as I was hoping it would, that looks straight forward.
