undelete the file in linux


I accidentally deleted my file how to recover it?. any help

First of all you didn't post enough information for me to help you with your specific case. So here's the default one:

I accidentally deleted my file how to recover it?. any help
- If the file contents are irreplacable and invaluable, then you should probably take the disk to a professional recovery firm.

- If the file contents are irreplacable and worth less than say USD 1K, and
- if the deletion happened a few minutes ago, and
- if the filesystem is one of NTFS, VFAT, Ext[23], then you should:
+ shut down the system
+ start by searching LQ for "undelete" or "foremost" and start reading.

In any other case you may safely consider the full contents gone.
You might recover pieces but if it was a binary format you will not get it to work again.
Luckily you made backups.

depending on the distibution, if you were in the GUI, there may be a trash folder.

If you deleted using the command line, then see the other post.
