Question unable to use mii-tool command

Hi All,

I am using RHEL5 linux box and tried to check the network devices connected with my machine. So, I tried 'mii-tool' command, but got the below error:

[root@anthurium sbin]# mii-tool
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth0' failed: Operation not supported
no MII interfaces found

Could anybody please tell me what this error means and what is SIOCGMIIPHY ?? MOreover, how can I see network devicrs connected within my computer ?

Thank You,
Kapil.

Not all devices support what mii-tool tries to do.

Try:

Code:
$ ifconfig
-- or --

Code:
$ lspci | grep -iP "\b(ethernet|network|wireless)\b"
