Unable to update Linux

I've installed Oracle Enterprise Linux about 3-4 years ago and after that I didn't upgrade it. Now I want to upgrade the Linux because I can't fine the Oracle ASM driver for my verision of Linux. I researched on google and found "yum update" command but that errors out. I've uncommented the baseurl also. Can anybody help please ?

[root@oragrid yum.repos.d]# uname -r
2.6.9-42.0.0.0.1.EL

[root@oragrid yum.repos.d]# yum --version
2.4.2

[root@oragrid yum.repos.d]# yum update

Looks like the repo's have possibly changed or are not active.
