I am having some issues getting my network card set up correctly on my Fedora Core 7 x86 OS.
Currently, my network card is set to grab information via DHCP, and all of that works fine. I am getting an IP address and subnet mask, and the gateway works. I am able to ping google via it's IP address (64.233.167.99), but when I try to ping it's FQDN (ie, google.com) or if I try to browse to it using a web browser, it is unable to resolve the domain. Same with any other web site.
I originally had installed FC7 64 bit edition and I had the same problem. With that, I edited the /etc/resolv.conf file and added "nameserver 192.168.0.1" to it and that was enough to get everything up and running like it should be.
In my current installation, I checked out the /etc/resolv.conf file, and that line had already been added.
Any ideas on what it might be? Sorry I'm still a n00b
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
