Don't know much about Fedora Core, but I would suggest installing VLC media player (if possible) since it very useful and plays all kinds of audio and video with the least bit of fuss. All the necessary codecs should be packaged with the player, which should get around your "Support For Mp3 Files Removed" issue.

I love Pclinux-how much less headaches !
Which fedora do you have ? i have the 8th 64 bit for Amd.
install Livna repos, update and then google Yum and install mp3 and audio and video codecs,it MUST WORK !
Next time If you don' t want to become mad..a fresh install of Pclinux -kde automatically includes mp3 and audio and video codecs by itself so,as you reboot the distro at the end of installation, you can have any media files working !
I love Pclinux-how much less headaches and time uselessly spent for common problems !
