unable to ping the linux machine


Hi
i have two linux machines(machine1(rhel client) and machine2(rhel server))
i am able to login the machine2 from machine1
but i am unable to ping machine1 from machine2
fire wall is stoped in both machine
could you please help me on this

may be the ICMP request disabled

thanks for your replay

still i am unable to ping
after adding the below line to /etc/sysctl.conf file:
net.ipv4.icmp_echo_ignore_all = 1

you misunderstood.. from the link

To enable ping request type the command:
echo "0" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all

Use iptables to Allow ping request

maybe your linux firewal is blocking the request.

Iptables -A INPUT -p icmp -j ACCEPT
