Question Unable to ping , ssh or connect to vnc to Linux redhat 5.1


Dears

Unable to ping , ssh or connect to vnc to Linux redhat 5.1

i turned off the firewall iptable

set correct ip , dns , default gateway and mask

ran sshd and vnc services but still with no luck

what to do?

did you just installed the system? or does it previously worked but not any more? if you just had a fresh install, I suspect ssh needs to be configured but ping should work. Can you get terminal to run on the machine locally?

ifconfig
and post the output.

oh, make sure you have your ip correctly in /etc/resolv.conf file. eg if your machine is given ip 192.168.1.13, then

Question

I installed new system and configured the port on switch to be on the planned vlan

there was some option that I kept on default during installation ( Enforced Security option as i remember ) and i turned off later but still not pinging

i will post the output later

but it shows the ip and the other network configuration

i dont think it shows any wrong info

what do you want me to check from that output ?
