Welcome to LQ. Most likely, you only created the root level user, but what you want to create is a regular user account. To do this:
Code:
1. Log in as root
2. Create a new user by entering the command: adduser
3. Respond to the prompts as needed
4. Log out
5. Log in, using the new regular account user
Good luck with it and Welcome to LQ!
