Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/)

Hi Guys,

I just installed Ubuntu 14.0 LTS...I get the following message:

"Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/)"

When I issue the following command:

"sudo apt-get install openssh-server"

apt-get dist-upgrade.
