Unable to load address book file abook.mag

Unable to load address book file abook.mag on Thurderbird. It may be read only or locked by another application. I get this error. I click OK and address book appears. How do I get rid of this error?

The default address book file in Thunderbird should be named abook.mab, not abook.mag.

Try this.

Ensure that Thunderbird is not running.

Find the abook.mab file.

Move the abook.mab file to a different location such as your home directory.

Ensure that the file does not exist in its original location.

Start Thunderbird.

Tell Thunderbird to import its address book from the old original file that you moved.

That should do it.
