Unable to install printer in CentOS 6.3. Message: "usb 3-2 device descriptor read/64, error 110"

Any idea?

Not really, since you don't tell us what kind of printer it is, or where you got that error message. And assuming that's a USB connected printer, not something running through a USB dongle, like bluetooth, right?

It's a xerox workcentre 3220 printer. It's connected to the usb port. Getting this error installing it and also in dmesg.

Any idea?

What are you trying to install, and how are you trying to install it?? Are you running a program to get that message? What are you running to try to set up the printer? What USB port (is it plugged into a hub, or is it plugged directly into your machine?) And do you ONLY get that one line, or are there other lines around it (there should be in dmesg). Again, without details about what's going on, we can't really tell you too much.

You can also download the Windows driver for it, and extract the .PPD file. If you follow the CentOS printer setup guide for local printers, it should ask you where the device is connected. Are you able to select USB there? And if you have the .PPD file, you can specify it later in the printer setup.

There are also two USB ports on that device...the one in the back is for input, while the one on the front is for USB access to documents and for scanning. Which are you plugged in to?
