./netscape-installer: line 45: 2773 Broken pipe ./netscape-installer-bin $@

any ideas ?

Sorry that this reply doesn't answer your question directly, but could I suggest that you try Mozilla instead of Netscape?

Netscape is a form of Mozilla, but I find that normal Mozilla is genuinely superior to it.

The latest version is 1.5 which you can download from http://www.mozilla.org/. I doubt you'll have any installation problems with this one!

yeh, go Mozilla

I'll echo incanus_1s' suggestion that you go with Mozilla.

Mozilla and Netscape are based on the same code base, but Mozilla is Free Software and Netscape is proprietary. So the community is free to alter, fix, and improve Mozilla. Also, remember that there are plenty of other Free Software options such as Epiphany, Galeon, and Konqueror.

Also, to keep problems to a minimum, try to install packages that come with your GNU/Linux distribution rather than getting packages off third-party websites.

Good luck.
