Unable to get Unbutu EVOLUTION started

Have had Unbutu 6.06 installed on separate hard drive for about a week (my first linux experience).

So far, I am unable to get Evolution past the first screen in which I enter my Full Name and Email address. Seems I am missing a "next" or "ok" button from the screen. In fact, it seems other screens are missing buttons at the bottom of the screen--such as Cancel, Back and Forward. Am using a 17" monitor and believe screen resolution is 800 by 600.

Thanks for suggestion. I did find that I could "move" the screen and see all the buttons at the bottom. Now, maybe I can get on with starting EVOLUTION.

You might want to look into changing the resolution, if it's not big enough for you to function

It sounds like it might be set to a virtual setting.

What is best place to use to change resolution? Am familiar with doing that in Windows, but so far haven't seen a straight-forward way to do it with Linux.

Are you using gnome? If so, and if you're xorg.conf is set up right, you can do it throught the desktop--->preferences--->change screen resolution setting.

Otherwise it's goign to take some interesting Xorg.conf settings. But, we'll take it one at a time.

Thanks for the reply. I believe I have everything going much better now. I ran onto this "sudo dpkg-reconfiture xserver-xorg". After going through that exercise, I now have resolution choices at System/Preferences/Change Screen. Now have much better and more complete screens

Great!

nice to know you reconfiged your X server easily

The first time i tired it, for the life of me I couldn't get it right! I was doing it manually...something I try to avoid if I can.
