Unable to find mail spool file.


I am Russell Crowther, I have been using Ubuntu for some years and I had fault develope in my old computor so i bought a new one. Therfor i had to reinstall Ubuntu 12.04. When i got Thunderbird i got the message pop up "Unable to find Mail spool File". I would appreciate help.
