Unable to connect to internet wirelessly.
 
I'm using a Fujitsu Siemens laptop (I tried to get some updates but didn't help..)

Which distro/version are you using? That would likely help folks help you.

Searching "Atheros AR242x 802.11abg Linux" turns up a lot of stuff, but much of it is related to specific distros and versions. Searching "Atheros AR242x 802.11abg [your distro]" might do the trick.

A request: When you post the output of commands, please surround it in "code" tags, which become available when you click the "Go Advanced" button beneath the post text entry window. It makes it much easier to read.

Firstly, as suggested, please edit your post using code tags. It makes console output easier to read, prevents MAC address's turning into a barrage of emoticons, and places the output in a scrollable text field, that makes reduces the overall size of a post and makes it easier to read.
Secondly,
This isn't a driver problem, as the wireless interface (wlan0) is showing in the output of iwconfig. So what exactly isn't working?
What have you tried to get it working?
How are you trying to configure the wlan0 interface?
What is bringing you unstuck?

Thirdly, when posting the output of commands such as lspci/lsusb etc, please cut out the irrelevant information, it save us (the people trying to help you) from having to sift though a bunch of crap that doesn't matter, in order to find the info that MIGHT matter.

Well okay... Hope that's any better..

Wlan isn't working, it was working perfectly fine on W7, but when I installed Xubuntu it just didn't work without the wire.

Not sure what lspci/lsusb is so I guess you just have to deal with it.. Sorry.

Can't help you if you wont provide enough information in order to do so, for example, by answering the questions asked of you.
So I guess you just have to deal with using "the wire".. Sorry.

Well.. I fixed it by my own.. used terminal to fix it and downloaded a program to get the wlan signal working.
