Unable to boot from hard drive

I have downloaded Ubantu 8.10 and Debian for the AMD 64, both seem to load from the CD but neither will boot from the hard drive.

What have I done wrong?

I have two SATA hard drives in a raid format, both drives are new and I've never loaded windoze onto them.

Thanks,

David.

Hard to say what you've done wrong, since we don't know what you DID. Did you do the install, load GRUB, get admin passwords set, etc.? If you went through the whole process, is your system BIOS set to boot from the hard drive(s)? Tried taking one of the drives out of the mix, to see if it'll boot from a single?

I'm guessing Debian and Ubuntu can't see your Fakeraid Array.. (the SATA RAID on your motherboard is NOT a real hardware RAID solution)

Heres a how-to Install Ubuntu on Fakeraid.
