Unable to boot after formatting kubuntu partition

I had a dual boot ( Windows XP and Kubuntu) and I realised I dont require kubuntu for a while. So using "Partition manager" software in windows I formatted the Linux partition ( to NTFS). Later I realise that my system would not boot at all.

I dont have access to Windows recovery CD but I do have a kubuntu live CD. Could someone please tel me a fix to the problem ?

Thanks for any help

Try this - should also work with the Kubuntu liveCD.

Thank you

syg00: Thanks so much. That was a wonderful piece of information. I was able to get a Windows recovery CD and recover my Windows. But still your info will be useful in the future.

dual boot, fixmbr, grub, kubuntu, mbr, recovery, windows
