unable to access wireless connection using fedora 7

I wanted to connect to internet using fedora 7. It works well in Win (dual boot). I tried to configure with my little knowledge. But whenever I try to activate it, it says:
eepro100 device eth1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.

I have set the ethernet connection as eth0 and wireless as eth1.
the hardware type shows: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG network connection.
What may be the problem?

It looks as though Linux is expecting your ethernet board to be eth1 (since that is what an eepro100 is). Have you tried changing the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth{x} file contents so that the ethernet is specified as eth1 and the wireless as eth0? You may have to make other changes as well to reflect this, depending on whether you have a firewall running, etc.

The output of the command lspci will tell you the order of your ethernet and wireless interfaces. I think that if the wireless comes before the ethernet in this listing of hardware devices, then the wireless should be eth0 and the ethernet should be eth1

I tried out what you said but I figured out that the driver ipw2200 had to be installed along with ieee80211...(I suppose). Can you please give me the stepwise installation or configuration procedure?
