I've been working on figuring this out all day. I'm a newb, no questions, so the simplest terms will help me the most, thanks.
I'm trying to install the drivers for my Linksys Wireless adapter (apparently a very common issue for the WMP54GS) using this
guide. Unfortunately I've been recieving the following error every time I attempt to run the "make install" command.
Can't find kernel build files in /lib/modules/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5/build
give the path to knerel build directory with
KBUILD=<path> argument to make
make:*** [prepeq_check] Error 1
After some puzzling around with searches I found that I needed to do a symlink. But I couldn't do this, since the entire /usr/src/ directory is empty.
I tried running "yum install kernel-devel", but that gives me the following:
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Setting up Install process
Setting up repositories
Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: core
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: core
So, in essence, I need to get the kernel headers in the /usr/src/kerne/ directory, and have NO idea how.
Note: I have no internet on the machine seeing as I don't have any drivers for the network adapter card.
