umask0000 what is the fourth digit for?

Just curious about umask in the fstab file. Three of the positions indicate the r,w,x for user, group and other. What does the fourth digit represent? Why would you choose to use umask0000 instead of umask000 in fstab?
Thanks,
Jed

It is not the fourth position but rather the first position you are referring to. The actual permission (and so umask) have four digits. The first one usually is for setuid, setgid and sticky bit. The other three are for r, w & x respectively. Search google for more on file systems.

Tux,
