uid permissions


why I get /tmp/kde-djx" is owned by uid 1001 instead of uid 0.
when I start kwrite for example?

Are you running KDE as root (you *REALLY* shouldn't)?

How else will I be able to update/install applications, I use synaptics and kwrite to edit files from commandshell using sudo.

also, my /home/rus1/.kde/share/config/kwriterc was't writable, so now I know why running things as root isn't good
*fixed thatone

..I'll check my home directory now
