ubuntu wireless internet issues
ok well i have to say that im a newbie hahahahah and that i cant get my et to work... ive even tried manuel and put in the gateway, ip, ect... but still no worky... i have a hp and currently multi partitioning with vista.
i have a broadcom wireless card... do i have to install a driver? thanks in advanced... oo and out of the blue question.... does ubuntu work just about like linux??? |
Does Gnome Network Manager see the wireless connection?
If it does but the setup still won't work, try using wicd (http://wicd.sourceforge.net/) as the network manager instead. If it doesn't see the card, then maybe you'll have to. |

You're going to need either bcm43xx-fwcutter or ndiswrapper. I haven't tried it, but something like this howto might help:
