ubuntu- trying to install ATI program asks for a .ini file
 

I've finally got a feel for Ubuntu so i decided to try and load some of my old software on. well the ATI program when asked to run ATIsetup.exe with wine says: would not find the file install.ini. the file is practically right next to it. any suggestions?

Have you used winecfg to properly configure which directories Wine is allowed to access?

Though the more critical issue here is the fact that installing Windows drivers under Wine doesn't work, and isn't required. Wine uses the Linux drivers for your devices, and ignores any Windows drivers you might install (if the installer even finishes without crashing).

Why are you installing ATIsetup??? if you want 3d support for your ati card on ubuntu you can install the ati proprietary driver that's available for linux. There are plenty of howtos around.... Good luck.
