If you want KDE on Ubuntu, run:
Code:

sudo apt-get install kde

Getting Kde on Ubuntu is not the problem, the problem is changing the default file manager there, this thread was never solved: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...9-04-a-771430/ or perhaps I didn't try too hard,

But may be now the things might have changed!

There is an option to confirm before deleting or emptying the trash, but not sending to the trash.

I just checked Gnome, there is an option saying "Ask before emptying the trash or deleting files"

Well, then when I pressed the delete key on a folder, it should have asked me, right? It didn't ask! Seems there is a bug.

Is it necessary for you to use Ubuntu?, you can shift to Kubuntu, Konqueror can work there very easily.

I should have quoted it before. :)

I knew you were commenting on that, but my reason for asking the OP to shift to Kubuntu was my inability to change the default file manager in Ubuntu and I thought you were asking him to install Kde since Konqueror is dependent on Kde, hence my above post.

But now I realize that after installing Kde he can "throw away" Gnome totally, I am a tube-light which needs a starter.
