Ubuntu Terminal

Hi there,

My environment is Windows 7==>Oracle Virtual Box==>Ubuntu VM.

When I type "terminal" in the Search Window, THREE icons come out:

"Terminal"
"XTerm"
"UXTerm"

What are the other two highlighted here with Bold type? What do they do?

Thank you, - Alex

Hi. Linux has a lot of different terminal apps and stylings you will get the same BASH, others and commands to work in all of them or use [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[F1] through [F6] and [F7] to get back to GUI... http://askubuntu.com/questions/95435...term-or-uxterm best wishes and have fun.

The two you highlighted are both the same as terminal in that they both use the same commands. However, they each look and work a little bit differntly than the others.

Cheers,

Here's a list of the most popular Linux terminal emulators:

They differ in the number of features but essentially they do the same thing.
