im running latest ubuntu but my skype doesnt have any sound. help anyone? please.

How did you install it?

problems with skype
 

guy at shop installed it but its updated itself to the latest version.

Does your sound work on other applications (music, videos, etc.)?
BTW, I've never known Skype to update itself automatically. My copies ok Skype certainly don't do that. You must have a luxury edition. :)

Yes it works on everything. I got an e mail from Skype telling me latest edition available. I down loaded it but it wouodnt install. When I took it to the shoo he said it updated by itself .that's all I know . Sorry

Skype is run by Microsoft. I think it is highly unlikely they would send you an email telling you that the "latest edition" is available for linux. Which version of the skype package did you download?
