@ johnsfine - I did try a smaller value for the drive but I still get the same error message. I tried a million less than the max but still a no go. I even tried one thousand more than the current value and still the same error

@ simon bridge - when it comes to editing bios ... that's seems a bit over my head --> where can I go to learn how to do this or if there already is a link to somebody who's done it.
I have yet to try this new drive in another machine --> so far all my friends' laptops are SATA
