Ubuntu problem! Help!
 

Hello! I am new to the linux community (And linux in general).

I have recently formatted my Acer Aspire One AOD250 Netbook from Windows XP and Installed Ubuntu 10.10 Netbook edition. However, when I attempt to boot Ubuntu, nothing happens! And my Netbook screams in terror every time I press a key (Meaning, it beeps loudly). If anyone can help that would be great...

P.s.
I am beginning to think it is the BIOS and I need some sort of linux version for that model...

Could you describe the circumstances further? What boot manager do you use? What kernel (i.e., what is the text you select in the boot manager?) Are there any errors displayed? Is the boot manager even loaded? And so on.

I have never seen a BIOS prohibiting loading Linux, so I guess that isn't your problem.

In addition to the information requested by Vinter, it would be helpful to know what operating systems you have. Is Ubuntu the only system you have installed? How did you install it - I believe the D250 is lacking a CD drive? Install from USB? Did you complete the installation by creating a user and password for the user? When you boot the computer, specifically what happens?
