Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I booted with Ubuntu Live CD and on desktop i got 2 icons "Examples" & "Install" i clicked on install icon to install it on hdd but cd light blinks for few minutes and then nothing happens & system hangs this making me angry bcoz iam trying from past few days to install linux on my laptop but unfornatly i couldn't.
Linux bros plz tell me what to do now and where am doing wrong ???????? :|
It sounds like you are trying this with an old computer with low ram? A live cd requires a lot of ram to run properly.
You need to download the Alternate install CD at the ubuntu website. If you boot the Alternate install CD it will give you an option to Install in Text Mode. You can install it this way if you have a computer that won't run the live cd.
