ubuntu problem

Hello I just got a dvd with ubuntu 6.06 but the linux format magazine does not define whether it is for 32bit - 64bit or both plattforms.
1.Does ubuntu goes out for both plttforms?
2.Is there a way to find this out?.The live version from dvd runs great
I have an amd64 bit proccessor

P.S I installed the previous month from the same magazine suse 10.1 it runs although but it is for 32 bit plattforms

You should be able to browse the DVD and find the kernels. If not, you can go into the boot directory when running live.

i386 is more of the architecture of your processor family. A pentium 4 would be a i686.

386 will also work on a 64bit machine, it just wont be able to use the advanced features of the 64 bit processor
