Ubuntu OR Fedora for Linksys

I have a WUSB54G v.4

and I've had a really hard time configuring it for Ubuntu.

I really dont know how to use ndiswrappers, and I'll admit, I'm pretty lazy.

Whats more compatable with this particular piece of Linksys hardware
Ubuntu or Fedora?

If there are no native drivers for the device, it doesn't really matter. You will need to use ndiswrapper in any event, and since no distribution can ship ndiswrapper pre-setup (as they can't redistribute the drivers themselves) you will need to do it manually.

Although, according to our HCL you shouldn't need ndiswrapper at all.

It took me a while to configure it for Fedora, using the Ubuntu howto:

Code:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/Belkin_F5D7050_ver_3000_%28Ralink_rt73_driver%29?highlight=%28WifiDocs%2FDevice%29
However, this was a couple of years back.

I was hesitant to switch my Fedora box to Slackware because of the difficulty I had with this device, however, it was a breeze (iirc, Slax picked it up out-of-the-box, so I realized that it had come a long way since I originally tried to get it working.)

The info in this thread greatly simplified the process for me:

Code:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-hardware-18/rt73-driver-nor-found-by-modprobe-after-compile-600497/?highlight=wusb54gc
cheers,
