Question Ubuntu on Lenovo laptop/tablet X-220t hacks

Hello fellow Linuxians,
Back in November I installed Ubuntu side-by-side with Windows 7 on my Lenovo X-220t. I has uploaded Grub and Ubuntu seamlessly. However, I cannot make a few cool aspects of my Laptop to work, as examples:
1. Scrolling with finger on the screen (the screen does respond to tapping/clicking, however),
2. The fingerprint reader does not work
3. The screen rotate button while on tablet form, does not work.
I would greatly appreciate if you fellow Newbies or pros out there could help.
Be well

please post one question at a time..
there maybe workarounds for your problems and some solutions, too..

try searching google for solutions if you don't find em here, maybe over time you won't miss fingerprint reader anymore. Note that your harware may not be 100% linux compatible, but if you managed to get wifi working and other basic things you are ready to continue on ubuntu..

My thinkpad doesn't have a fingerprint reader, but I found this on the Lenovo forums web site via a google search. It specifically mentions Ubuntu drivers:

There are a number of threads there that pertain to enabling the fingerprint reader on Linux. This thread, for example, points to a few other threads that might be of interest to you.

I agree with yooy that you should open separate questions for distinct issues. It's best to combine separate issues only when they are closely related or you have strong reason to believe that they have a common root cause.

Good luck.

Thank you for your reply. By chance I discovered that by using 2 fingers it works the same as on the Windows side or Android.
This might be helpful to other Lenovo tablet users.
Be well,

P.S. If you buy a new Laptop get the most basic Win7 (have no exp with W8), a Solid State Drive, good processor, no proprietary software and install your favorite Linux distro with most of the SSD allocated to Linux.
