Ubuntu NDIS-GTK WIRELESS PROBLEM
Just recently i installed ubuntu 6.0, I tried to setup my wireless network with my wireless g speed booster card. So i downloaded ndis-gtk and put in the cd (that it came with on windows)so that i could get the .inf file (wmp54gs).I got the file and installed it with the hardware in place, and it isn't recognizing the hardware. I've tried everything from removing the hardware installing and putting it back in, to trying diffrent .inf files. Anyways help would be much apreciated

Assuming it's broadcom chipset, going by the *.inf, try this https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...Driver/bcm43xx . Possible native bcm43xx conflicting with ndiswrapper. If it's 4306 chipset you have then add firmware as per guide - stable and works well, forget ndiswrapper.

Okay so i removed the driver (that wasen't working) and installed it again (it worked:recognizes the hardware). I went to configure my wireless network and the wireless network icon wasn't their. Once again if anybody knew how i could get it back i would greatly appreciate it

Which icon and which driver? Look here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WiFiHowTo and here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...eShootingGuide
