Ubuntu Login issue through Virtual Machine
 

Hi,

The below issue is killing my time very often, it would be more helpful if you solve this!!
I installed Ubuntu(Version 10.04) through virtual machine(VMware Palayer) in my PC. After the successful installation, my ubuntu was working fine atleast for a day. After some days, when i tried to login the virtual machine with my user name and password, machine did some initial processing and was showing up the login page again. It seems some reset is happened. I am sure my user name and password were correct. because, if i entered the incorrect password, ubuntu was throwing an error, "Incorrect password". After some analysis i deleted the ubuntu and reinstalled it again. I faced the same problem in some other PCs also. Can you tell me what would be the casue and how to resolve it.


I thought entering incorrect password might be the cause for this issue, but that is not the case!!

This can happen if the user account does not have privilege to access its own home directory.
