ubuntu is not installed on my system which is having dg105 mother board


hey
i am trying to install ubuntu os on my pc
and i am unable to do it. it strucks where it begins and i have got some info that the motherboard of my system is main cause for this problem and my mother board is "dg105" it is from intel boards.
and i will be thankful if anyone helped me out

bunny678: A few questions:

1) Which CD are you trying to install from? I assume you're using the Ubuntu 8.04 Live CD.

2) You say that it "strucks [sic] where it begins". What does this mean exactly? Is the computer freezing up when you boot from the CD? Are you getting to a desktop, and double-clicking the install icon and nothing happens? Or do you getting to the end of the install process, the machine resets and then does not boot?

3) When the system sticks, what do you see on the screen? Do the mouse or keyboard work? If the keyboard does nothing, does pressing the Num Lock key toggle the Num Lock light on the keyboard?

Depending on the problem you are having, you may have more luck with the Alternate CD in some cases. http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

when i press install button it is doing nothing
and the problem is not wid my cd as par as my knowledge and y i am saying this is thesame cd is installed on my friends system
finally thanks for ur reply
and if possible help me out

Will you post that motherboard info that you get?Is any other application like Firefox for example working?Are you doing this from Windows?
