Ubuntu-Intel 64 bit compatibility

Is ubuntu 11.10 compatible with the Intel 64bit i7-2600k 3.40 Ghz processor?

One way to find out is booting from the CD or USB in live mode. Trying it without installing it. If it works and you have internet connectivity, sound and good video display I'll say it is compatible.

Good luck to you.

Here are some i7 reviews on Phoronix that may interest you:

Note that Ubuntu 12.04 will be out in about 1 month. This will include a newer kernel that should hopefully fix any problems with the i7.

And welcome to the LQ forums!
