Ubuntu Installation - For Beginners

Hi all, if your trying to install Ubuntu, let me tell you I've had versions 7.04 to 8.04 installed dual boot on the same PC for a long time now. Its been a good experience, so I recorded the process to install/upgrade for those interested. Let me know and I'll post the links to my videos.

Cheers

I bow to your guru-ship.

Just to let you know, some of the people in the Linux-Newbie section still know a lot more than I do, regardless of post count. Also, Ubuntu has got to be one of the easiest distros to install in the first place. And...this is a forum, not a one man show.

Besides the low level of distaste, welcome to LQ. (in the future stay away from posts like this)

Well, I know there are many people out there that are afraid to ask the basic questions, so I thought I'd start there. Actually, I just posted in the Linux Desktops section of this forum a post that shares my experiences with enabling Advanced Desktop Effects. The best way is to show visuals sometimes, and I recorded a lot of what I did to show newbies and beginners what to expect when they use an Ubuntu Distro.

Thanks for the heads up.

Cheers

I find ubuntu installation and config to be very intuitive. Maybe your efforts would be best spent with visual aids walking through a more advanced distro such as Slackware or Gentoo.

yea i like the idea but do it on the "step-up" distros because ubuntu is very straight forward already and another thing is ive been using ubuntu since 6.04 or so and i gotta tell you i don't even consider myself very good at it.
