Unhappy Ubuntu froze while downloading?!

I am on a chromebook and while on a terminal tab downloading ubuntu, my mouse froze! The download continued and asked for a username but I was unable to due to my mouse being frozen. I tried it 2 times and it froze both times, what should I do?

A quick Google for "chromebook frozen during download" produces this as the first result:

https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton/issues/1994

Have a look at the options. The external keyboard solution sounds useful.

P.S. Like the relevant username.

No problem. Welcome to the forum and all the best with installing Ubuntu.

Please do come back onto this thread and let us know how you get on with solving the freezing issue, and what you did to solve it.

Talking

The external keyboard sounds like a good solution. I don't have one at the moment, so it will be a while before I can say a set solution.

That was only the solution that, on a very quick browse through the page, I immediately thought might have merits. There could well be other solutions that will work for you, so have a good look at that page and others through that Google search, and see what has worked for other people who have similar experiences to you. You might even save yourself the bother of getting an external keyboard (although it's always handy to have one around).
