Ubuntu bootstrap fails to boot Ubuntu 10.04 desktop on PPC Mac G4 form USB stick

Hi, I'm having some trouble booting Ubuntu 10.04 from a USB stick on my ppc Mac. I installed Ubuntu on my 4 gig. USB stick using a ppc iBook G4. When I boot from my USB stick the computer displayed:
Welcome to Ubuntu bootstrap
1 boot GNU/LINUX
c boot from cd rom
x boot Mac OS X
defualt 1 boot:

It booted into option 1 and failed to boot Ubuntu. All it showed was a grey no icon with a white background.

Not sure if it will solve but...
Try to press TAB and then remove some options.. I guess splash is a candidate.. maybe also set acpi=off
