Ubuntu boots to grub

Hello,

My ubuntu distro boots to grub> command line.
When I check the ubuntu folder (in windows since it
is wubi install), th size of the folder is reduced to 700 mb.
And the folder contains the file .fuse_hidden0000....
This is not the first time I have experienced this problem.
Is my ubuntu installation corrupted and I have to go for
fresh install?

That's the download size of the iso. Have you checked this folder previously and found it larger? The link below contains this paragraph at the Ubuntu wubi site which would seem to indicate that is a problem:

an I force Wubi to install even if I have less than 5GB of free disk space?

No. From release 11.10, 5GB is required as a minimum including enough space to store the ISO. On older releases, start Wubi with the argument "--skipspacecheck". Even on older releases, you'll still require 3GB of space plus room for the ISO. Pushing this limit too hard may cause errors.

I've never used wubi so I don't have any more suggestions.
