My experience only: Ubuntu installs from one CD (not DVD) and then gets everything else from download.

If you install Ubuntu, and then open up Synaptic, the package manager, you will find all the sources, etc.

What is puzzling is that I cannot find a link to this when starting at the Ubuntu site. It refers to the DVD, but none of the links seems to get you to it.

I would still stick with the single CD and then get everything else thru Synaptic.
