ubuntu and ipod;and which bittorent client you think is better to use....

Sorry again, but i got silly question again...
The other day i connect my ipod (sixth generations 80gb) whit ubuntu.. I saw somethere about Floola so i tried (i erase all my staff from ipod, cos there was not choise of my ipod) maybe it is some easy program which i can use for play, add and deleting files....????
And other question :/ I didnt whant to make other post so i thought i`ll put in one... :
Which Bittorrent client u think is better on ubuntu???
Im using Ktorrent now but it not downloading so fast as it was on XP or Win7... Yes i open the ports (which ones i dont need to open on win..) I know it fast cos when i download from somethere else (not torrent) its goes normal speed (fast) but not whit ktorrent maybe it is some other client ???

Floola sounds good, but if you can't get it working, don't like it or want to try something else out, try Amarok or Gtkpod on your Ubuntu. Amarok is a KDE application, but a fairly good one when it comes to handling portable players, so don't be afraid of trying it out -- should run just fine on your Ubuntu (Gnome desktop), but might require you to install some KDE libraries in the process (again no worry; the package manager handles this all for you).

You should make one thread per one problem, to get good exposure; putting several separate questions (problems) into the same post makes it more difficult to 1) find the thread, so people who could potentially answer might never read it, 2) get a clear no-confusion view of what you're trying to do, 3) answer clearly, because answers get mixed up in the posts -- there's no sane plot in the answers anymore.

For torrents I just use the Transmission app (both on Ubuntu and OS X), though I mainly download ISO images of Linux distributions nowadays, so I'm not sure how it compares to the others..for me it has worked well, though, no speed problems I've noticed -- except those that rise from limited number of seeds and their upload speeds, and possible ISP interaction (limiting the traffic speed). To test the speed you should locate a torrent that you know is available, has a very good number of seeds all the time (so you know you are able to download it at maximum speed at any time, so the upload speed of the seeds doesn't interfere) and try downloading that several times (during a time longer than one day or two days, as the speeds may depend on the time of day!) A file that resides on a fast mirror close to you that has lots of seeds all the time would be good, for example some Linux operating system image. The file should be big enough to give an accurate mean value for the download speed (a 1kB file will very probably give you unrealistic download speeds), and the best case was if you could have a separated network (a laboratory), a controlled environment, but I take it that's not possible..

Most of the time slow torrent download speeds are caused by users limiting their upload speeds, lack of seeds, slow connections and possibly internet server providers making torrent traffic go slow if they can (they try to do it here). But if the material is illegal, it's just good, right? :)

Thanks but i know about seed ISP i know for sure its something whit ubuntu i just download something on windows whit 737kb/s speed but on ubuntu it goes max 30kb/s so i know for sure its something wrong maybe whit torrent client or maybe whit my configurations

Then you could try some other programs as well, like Utorrent (through Wine) or Azureus -- a lot of people seem to think they're faster, so you could test that (would tell if it really is the program's capabilities or configuration, or something else). Some say enabling encryption may help too, but I wouldn't be too optimistic with that..

I'm fairly sure it's not the program (or only that), because I use Transmission (version 1.34) which some seem to say is slow, and it happily downloads about 600kB/s when seeders can do it. Sometimes the seeders aren't capable of that and then I get less, but because the program works that fast with a lot of files with good availability (Ubuntu images on a nearby mirror for example), it can't be bad. ISPs here advertise they will throttle traffic down or even cut it off for a limited time if file sharing activity is detected, but I'm not sure how well it works nowadays.. But do try out some of the "fast" programs and see if it helps -- if they're slow too, you can probably move on to next target (check your router for example). Hopefully you'll find a solution; if you do, post it here as well..

Azureus seems to have quite a few tricks mentioned on the web (do a Google search, visit their site) about how people can get it work faster, but they look pretty situation-specific, so don't expect wonders before they happen.

problem was not whit my torrent client but whit my wireless card drivers!! I still cant install them properly but i went on wired connection....
and now it seams to work everything perfect
