Ubuntu after Suse install- lost Grub screen
Hi all
Its been a while since I visited here. I am in a bit of a jam. I had a working, relatively well-configured Suse installation. I happened upon a HD and well, decided to get fancy and have Ubuntu on it and have a dual boot. Well, I guess I must have done the wrong thing by installing grub to MBR because now when I try to boot, it says Grub loading, please wait Error 15 I tried restoring the Suse grub but I only have the boot CD (it was a network install) and couldn't get it back (maybe I'm doing the wrong thing). Any ideas how I should proceed ? I don't really care about the Ubuntu installation at this point if I have to sacrifice it but would like to get Suse back. BTW, I downloaded the Suse LiveCD but it doesn't seem to have an option to restore grub. I do have the Ubuntu disk. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance. Cheers, HT |
Try www.google.com/linux, search words "chroot grub install". You can find instructions.
Basically, boot Ubuntu, mount SuSE parttion read/write, chroot into it, and reinstall grub. |
Search LQ "GAG" Dl & make bootable CD. GL
