Ubuntu 9.04 - Nvidia Graphic card

I'm new to Linux and just installed ubuntu 9.04 over my existing OS(XP). I'm trying to change my desktop resolution, but ubuntu 9.04 doesn't regonize my Nvidia Geforce 7950 GX2. Do I have to install the drivers for it and how would I do?

This is the message I get when I go into the display panel:

You do not appear to be using the NVIDIA X driver. Please edit your X configuration file (just run `nvidia-xconfig` as root), and restart the X server.

Any help would be great!

You can go here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html

and download the newest nvidia driver.

Exit X and run the installer.
