Question ubuntu 9.04 no sound after install


Hi everyone,

I've installed Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 on my (AMD Turion X2)laptop and run full updates and upgrades. I can play video files (flv,mp3,mp4 etc) but no sound at all. Can someone pls advice me what to do have it fixed.

9.04 no sound

Try this:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

worked for me!

Also search for gstreamer codecs [good,bad,ugly] in synaptic.
