Ubuntu 7.10 on ps3 partitioning problem.

Im having trouble installing ubuntu 7.10 on my ps3.First off I'm going to give links to the pages i used on how to install.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Ubunt...S3-73272.shtml

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Insta...10-68645.shtml

Ok so I have done all the steps and had no problems till I get the menu where it asks about partitioning hard drive ( shown in the second link provided)
In the guide it explains to use the partition that was set up before to run the os. ( as I would like to use it as a secondary os allowing me to keep the ps3 xmb os) but I'm only given the option to use the entire disk space and the 10gb that I partition for the os. Not just the 10gb partition. I'm also given the option to do it manually but as you can see ( from where this is posted lol) I'm new to linux. I would really appreciate any help or maybe a link to where I can solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

Did it not show the entire disk divided in several partition ?
Did it not allow you to choice the partition where you like to install ?
If so choice the partition where you like to install UBUNTU

And what are the option of manual ?
You see the option to choice where to install diverse from version to version.
Sometimes it is called customize or expert or manual.
But remember it is always a good idea to backup before installing just in case.
