Ubuntu 7.04 will not display my NAS but Kubuntu 7.04 will

Here is my problem:

I have a D-link 323 NAS connect to my network, in Ubuntu I cannot get to the folder where the Data is. I can See the D-link in the network but when I try to access the NAS I get an error “The folder contents could not be displayed”. Now the strange part is if I use Kubuntu (used the live CD) I can access the Data.

Can somebody point me is a direction on where to start looking to cure this problem. I would prefer to use Gnome over KDE.

I have only used the Graphical tools on these distributions so not quite sure of terminal stuff yet.

Thank you

I'd start with the Live disc that works and have a look at /etc/samba/smb.conf, have a look at what users and groups you have, /etc/groups, /etc/samba/smbpasswd. Some other things to check, what file system is the NAS? Could be that the live disc has those things setup "automagicially" and you'll need to set them up manually on a real install.
Good luck. ;-)
